OVERVIEW

Baraka FM radio limited is a private owned profit media organization belonging to the Moravian church in Tanzania-South West Province. Its broadcasting house is located along Mahakama Street, Old forest Area in Mbeya and its transmitter installed at Kawetere Transmission site, 17KM along Chunya road. 

Baraka FM radio officially switched on November 2008 as the first religious radio station in Mbeya region with strong and trusted local customer brands.

More than two million people listen to Baraka FM radio, based on call in/messages as well as social media charts in the station per week.

COVERAGE AREA

Baraka FM covers 400KM radius area with strong physical presence across Mbeya region and Songwe region. Furthermore BFM has physical presence to some other parts of southern highland zones. In Njombe radio covers Makambako and Wanging’ombe districts, while in Iringa region BFM covers Mufindi as well as Kilolo districts),

Aside from area coverage above are, Baraka FM has a very strong online presence with a live online stream on its website www.barakafmradio.com and Application in a play store named Baraka FM radio 107.7 Mbeya, as well as powerful social media pages, Instagram and Facebook page.

To provide listenership with media outlet that is committed to hearing and sharing the voices of its listenership

To produce radio programs that are educative, informative and entertaining, with regular reference to real life issues

To promote social cohesion among all members of the community within our catchment area

To provide messages of hope to heal the broken society

SOCIAL IMPACT

BFM Radio promotes social cohesion by facilitating dialogue between different sections of the community. It aims at providing a platform to bridge the gap between the voiceless and decision makers.

NUMBER OF STATION

At present BFM radio has two stations which are:

Broadcasting House (BH) comprising administration offices, news room, On –Air, Production and Recording studios

Transmission site (TX) comprising transmitter and Radio Tower (RT)

There are plans in the near future to establish a substation at Isyonje area to   strengthen signal reception in Rungwe, Kyela and Makete.

DAILY PROGRAMMES:

From Baraka FM radio you can sponsor programs below for daily collection of customers for your business and commercial developments.

NURU YA ASUBUHI: At 06:00am to 10:00am, you are listen DW news, regional, national and international political news, social, sports and economic news contents as well as newspaper headings.

KIVULINI: Every day at 12:00PM to 2:00PM here you get and enjoy health education, delicious food preparation, greetings and house decoration education contents.

JARIDA: The program starts 10:00AM to 11:00AM, contains daily business, commercial, social, environmental, political, economic industrial as well as communication education. 

EDUCATION CORNER: Covers University and schools’ contents such as children psychology, behavior and language skills for both university, colleges and schools’ students. 

IJUE BIBILIA (KNOW THE BIBLE): It is one hour program, starts from 11:00PM to 12:00PM, the program containing bible knowledge

MUDA WETU: 2 hours program that contains, gospel music and news entertainments.  Â
