Butiama FM Radio

Butiama FM was founded to act as a catalyst for placing culture at the centre of human development. The station will involve community members and local government authorities.

Butiama FM Radio adheres to set standards by TCRA including technical specifications for equipment and infrastructure, content regulations, and requirements for local content. Local community is center of the station and other stakeholders: women’s organizations, youth groups, farmers groups, mothers of the community, the school teachers and school children, health committees, local opinion/influential leaders, religious organizations, groups of HIV positive people, and a host of other organizations each with its subgroups and constituencies.  These groups and organizations involved and engaged will promote the organization of every interest sector to feel this radio is theirs and in order for it to survive, their active participation and contributions are vital.

To have an informed community where cultural norms and values form the social basis, context and purpose for development.

Mission

To provide a platform for the community in Butiama, as well as, the Local Government to share and participate in development process. To act as a catalyst to ensure positive culture, norms and values is placed at the center of human development.

Objective

Our primary objectives is to improve the rural community initiatives through an improved communication system, and to act as a forum for community to exchange development ideas and debate local, regional and national issues , and cultural provide music entertainment and cultural promotion.
