Ileje FM Radio Profile

“ILEJE FM” is a community radio, variety hits radio station transmitting from ITUMBA ILEJE, SONGWE. The radio is programmed with community, well-researched information, ethical advertisements, and promotions. The station employs competent individuals who are creative and professionally dedicated to satisfying our listeners’ and advertisers’ needs in the community.

The radio is owned by ILEJE DISTRICT, registered under the Tanzania Act of Companies on 31st October 2002 with certificate of incorporation No.112581 of 31st October 2002.

The main purpose for the establishment of ILEJE FM was to air to the community the important events, occurring in the country and outside of it, as well as, education, customs, tradition, science, health, agriculture, road traffic, household knowledge, and entertainment through to traditional and modern songs, opera, drama, music among others. This satisfies the need for information sharing and talent development.

 Location

ILEJE FM is located in the Songwe region, Ileje District though its broadcasting covers areas of neighbouringregions.Rukwa, Mbeya, Ruvuma, Njombe, and some parts of Northern regions of Zambia and Malawi. The maximum of listeners is 5,000,00.

Vision 

The Vision of ILEJE FM is to build community, a loyal and growing audience, and an engaged and educated citizenry by providing the highest quality of free-form programming that broadcasts entertainment, music, news, thoughts, sounds, ideas, and event listings that support free speech, diversity, and the interests of the local and global communities.

The ongoing ripple effect of sustaining ILEJE FM COMMUNITY RADIO is to expand a dedicated listener base who embrace and support ILEJE FM COMMUNITY RADIO because they feel their lives are enriched and improved, their communities strengthened, and the world is a better place.
