About us

Radio Tadio

Radio Tadio is a Tanzanian community radio online portal that has been operational since 2020. The online portal is a media platform for marketing of rural radio stations and bringing rural perspectives to national debates.

Radio Tadio publishes news articles, images, audio podcasts and provides live streams from 40 upcountry radio stations across Tanzania. Issues covered include local news, agriculture, health, education, environment, gender, youth, and children, among others.

Our aim is to become a widely visited multimedia news site focusing on information and dialogue on rural issues.

TADIO

Tanzania Development Information Organization (TADIO) is a national umbrella organisation of community radio stations across Tanzania and registered under the NGOs Act Number 24 of 2002.

We currently have 40 member radio stations in most regions of Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar. The radio operations of our member radio stations cover almost 70% of the area of Tanzania and reach a listenership of millions of people across the country.

TADIO wishes to develop partnerships with development agencies, government institutions, civil society organisations and private companies willing to reach rural radio stations and rural communities in different parts of Tanzania by information campaigns, sponsored programmes, or paid advertisements.

Our secretariat is located at Open University of Tanzania (OUT) headquarters in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, where we also have our radio production studio. You are most welcome to contact us and discuss about partnership projects aiming to reach and empower rural communities locally or across Tanzania. For more information, visit TADIO website here.
